How Get IT Works

Your goals are our focus. Our 24/7 team of experienced professionals anticipate and correct many problems before they occur.  No risk, no hassle; we offer a 100% money back guarantee.  Hire Get IT to come onsite and put an end to your most challenging computer problems.

Get IT uses a high-end IT management platform, employed by companies such as Sony, LG, and Mitsubishi.   We remotely monitor aspects of your system's performance around the clock, including security issues.   We want to make the network easy for you to use and easy for us to manage.  This platform constantly performs checks on the Servers, Network, Firewalls and Desktops and alerts the engineers at the Get IT Network Operations Center.  Our engineers will take appropriate steps to prevent your potential issue from becoming a real problem.

When you encounter a problem, you can call a toll-free number and speak directly with an engineer at the Get IT Network Operations Center. The engineer will assist you or when necessary and with your permission, the engineer takes remote control of the machine and resolves the problem.

Over 90% of our customers' issues are resolved remotely.  If the issue cannot be resolved remotely (as is the case with failure of hardware), Get IT will dispatch a technician to your site.

With the Backup Disaster Recovery Plan, restoration is easy.   If the server goes down, the NAS (Network Attached Storage) Device converts to a virtual server and a new NAS will be sent next-day air ready for a complete restoration.

The Business Continuity Plan  -  Demonstration video

Services Provided

• Server Monitoring of the Servers being backed up.

• An on-site Network Attached Storage (NAS) unit that provides fast server virtualization capabilities in the event of server failure

• Secure Remote (Off-site) Storage provided at two hardened Data Centers.

• Day to day data restoration and full recovery in the event of catastrophe.

• Full management of the NAS and remote storage.

Server Monitoring

• 24x7 monitoring by our Network Operations Team

• Asset Tracking of Software and Hardware

• Preventative Maintenance

• Categorization and problem analysis by our expert team

• Remediation of issues related to faulty backups

Security

• Data is encrypted before it leaves your servers with an encryption key that only we have. The data is then encrypted again for its transit over the Internet. Files are then stored, in encrypted form, on multiple servers in high security facilities.

• Each file is encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption technology. 256AES Encrypted data cannot be read without the corresponding keys, so encrypted data cannot be misused, even if it's stolen.

• In addition, our software communicates with the remote servers using SSL (Secure Socket Layers) technology. As a result, the online backup of data is encrypted twice. It is encrypted at all times using the 256-bit AES encryption, and it is encrypted again while it’s being sent over the Internet.

• Your data is never hosted at the remote Data Center. This is done because we do not want anyone to have access to the data, for security purposes.

Backup Frequency

• Our service can protect your data as frequently as every 15 minutes, every day. This provides hundreds of additional backup copies vs. tape backup allowing multiple restore points to recover the most current version of your data just prior to the data loss event. Off-site backup frequencies will be dependant on image sizes and internet bandwidth available.

Smart Data Transport

• Data transmission can easily be configured to minimize bandwidth consumption. Our NAS leverages Adaptive Bandwidth Throttling, which allows us to set a limit on outbound bandwidth used. (E.g. assuming a 768Kpbs outbound connection, adaptive bandwidth throttling can be set with a maximum at 512Kpbs). We can therefore exercise fine control over the data imaging and transmission processes.

Remote Storage provided at two XO high availability Data Centers in Phoenix and Baltimore.

• Highly redundant storage with backup images stored at the data centers on a SAN at the primary facility, then replicated to the secondary facility.

• Connectivity provided by multiple providers with automatic failover capabilities.

• Facilities provide two fiber optic network drops for our backbone.

• Full physical security at each facility including security cameras, key card and biometric access.

• Network is secured with high-end redundant, automatic failover firewalls.

• Fire suppression and environmental control provided.

• Automatic backup power provided by on-site generators.

Historical Archive

• Our service offers scheduled backup plans that include a 7-Day, 14-Day or 30-Day archives on the NAS which can be selectively pushed out to a remote storage facility. The option of expanding the retention period from a 1-Year to 7-Year History is also available.

Remote Storage and Base Remote Backup Image Creation

• Your data is stored (in encrypted form) in two secure online data backup centers, located hundreds of miles apart from each other.

• The BASE IMAGE will be transmitted across the internet to the primary remote storage facility. The time that it takes to perform this remote backup will vary significantly depending on the amount and types of files being backed up and on the upload speed of your Internet connection. These factors both determine the time it takes to build the base backup image.

Recovery Time Objective (RTO)

• Get IT will log all backup and retrieval activities from the Client.

• Get IT will attempt to resolve access, backup, or retrieval problems over the phone on first call within 2 hours of the first request. We can restore a file, file folder, email or an entire mailbox as needed. Please call our help desk for assistance.

• In a disaster, where you should lose your entire office, we will have a new NAS imaged, with the most current backup information. It will be shipped out via next-business day air transportation to a location of your choice. When the NAS arrives, it is ready to be used as a virtual server.

• The NAS can also be used to perform a bare metal restore to dissimilar hardware which means that when a new server arrives, the NAS can be used to restore the most current data to that new server regardless of the server hardware.
